Background
Aliter is aiming to create a UK market leading provider of legal services, with a truly national footprint, servicing its clients with a focus on small to medium sized businesses, entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals. This journey began in October 2024, with a significant investment in BBS Law which offered great foundations for future growth. This included a resilient business model, a range of complementary services to suit its customer base and long-standing customer relationships. The firm also offered a footprint in the attractive areas of Manchester and London and a track record of organic growth, combined with successfully integrating bolt-on acquisitions.
How Aliter has helped
Since its first investment in BBS, Aliter has continued to support both organic growth plans and a pipeline of target acquisitions. This is successfully expanding the firm’s regional coverage across the UK, strengthening its existing services and adding complementary new services. The emerging legal services group made subsequent investments in August 2025, in North London based Carter Bond and in May 2026 in Reading based Clarkslegal. These investments have strengthened the group’s existing corporate offering and added attractive sector specialisms. Aliter also supported the development and launch of the new brand, Orwins in May 2026.
