In January 2018, we established the Boston Networks Group with a goal of building a modern and progressive fire, security and data networks services business, delivering innovative and specialist services to its clients.
How we’ve helped
In January 2018, Aliter backed Boston Networks, an integrated technologies specialist that works across IT network infrastructure, with a focus on fire, security and smart building systems.
Shortly afterwards in April 2018, we funded Boston’s acquisition of PEL, a family owned sound, fire, security and AV solutions business based in the South East of England to create a national business with UK coverage.
In December 2018, Boston Networks acquired their second bolt-on 2020 Vision, a North East England based security services integrator with a focus on high-end converged security systems involving IP connectivity.
Drawing on Aliter’s deep industrial experience and established network, Boston Networks’ strategy is to grow organically and through acquisitions to establish a leading national operator with a diversified blue chip customer base.
Aliter’s experience in the development of national support services businesses will provide support to the CEO of Boston Networks, Scott McEwan, in actively making bolt-on acquisitions of complementary businesses.
Choosing Aliter as our investment partner was an easy decision. I have been aware of the Aliter team and their track record for a number of years, so having the opportunity to work closely with them on the next stage of Boston Networks’ development is exciting. It was clear from the start that their network and experience will add significant value to the business, supporting transformational growth and the development of additional solutions for our customers. The fact that Aliter truly understands our market and how our business operates will be of major importance going forward.”Scott McEwan, CEO, Boston Networks
